The standard games have been carefully crafted to be accessible to gamers and non-gamers alike. Each of the games focus on one or more aspect of IT management. They have a coherent look and feel with common iconography and terminology. They are designed both for general game-play and as an instructional resource. 

The games range from medium to medium-light weight, referring to the complexity of the rules, game-play and concepts involved. Many of the concepts incorporated into the games are intrinsically complex when placed into a holistic context.   

Our individual games are licensed for personal use only. If the games are to be used for games-centric training and development or other corporate benefit, they must be separately licensed for this purpose.

Stabil-IT 2.0  ...a game of incident handling, problem and life-cycle management

Process: Incident Management

Stabil-IT (pronounced "stability") is an IT themed management game where the players manage one or two IT services and aim to generate the most business value.
All players work off two central boards, one featuring the Stabil-IT matrix and the other having the resource roundel. The resource roundel is used to control the availability of resources to the players and also to establish which player is in control of the game at any given time.

Over the course of six rounds, each player performs actions to improve the confidence in their IT services and to life-cycle them to an updated version. Each action takes one or more resources which can be technical specialists, application specialists or analysts/test specialist.

At certain points in the game, stress tests are carried out to find the weakest point in the matrix which leads to a loss of confidence at that point. If there is no confidence to lose, an incident occurs. Solve the incidents to get knowledge and other benefits.

UPGRADE!  ...a strategic game of life-cycle management
Process: Capacity Management Focus: Business/Service capacity management 
UPGRADE! is a challenging strategic business development game in which each player is managing a small industrial facility with up to five computer systems and one integration system over a 6 year gaming period. Each year comprises three action rounds in which the solutions can be upgraded, the number of users can be increased, management can be asked for financial commitments and  performance can be improved. Every year, fees are collected and revenue is received for connected users.

DEPLOY!  ...a strategic business development game of resource management, worker placement and set collection for 1-4 players, set in the world of IT
Process: Capacity Management Focus: Component capacity management 
In DEPLOY!, players enter into projects and deploy the needed IT components onto their servers to gain money and business value.

Each player’s board represents a server-room with three capacity pools (A, B and C) supporting a different mix of workloads. The main board is used to track the progress of the game as well as each player’s worker usage, income and business value points. It also holds the available capacity cards (pool ‘A’ and pool ‘B’) and the available projects


The game runs over five rounds, after which the winning player is the one that has the most business value; earned from deployed projects, running an optimised server-room and supporting cloud deployments.

DEPLOY!  the card game, is a strategic game of optimization and set collection for 1-2 players 

Process: Capacity Management Focus: Component capacity management 


In the game, you will be adding and removing capacity from your play area (data centre) in order that you can support the demand needed to deploy projects and gain business value.

The game uses cards which can be played in either of two orientations to represent capacity or workload needed to run a project. Capacity can later be removed from play and workload can be moved around.


At the beginning of each round you reset your available resources by taking tokens from your resource pool and placing them in front of you. As resources are used, they are moved back to the pool.

Your projects generate income and may deliver business value at the end of the game. Your capacity may also have a running cost. Income and costs are evaluated at the beginning of the round and used to adjust the number of resources that you have available for the round.


At the end of the game, additional business value is earned for cards deployed or moved to the cloud.
